The house was built around 1785 and retains many of the original features in terms of windows and layout. It was for much of its life a bakery and shop. The annexe being the old bakery area and the various garages provided stabling with hay and flour lofts above. In the 60's the bakery closed and the shop became a general store and newsagent. The present owners moved here in 1985 changing the use from an antique shop  to a private dwelling. In 1990 they converted the shop area to provide a music room and study. Extensive alterations were carried out in 2000 providing the self contained annexe, a new kitchen, utility room and rear lobby.

The self contained annexe with its own separate central heating boiler could provide either additional income as rented accommodation or be used for variety of purposes including an office or elderly persons flat. Outside there are two garages and parking for three cars plus a large forecourt/driveway which can accommodate several other vehicles.

There is a vehicular right of way to two additional garages owned by the two bungalows behind the property and they also have a pedestrian access.
